The Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust is one of 72 League Clubs affiliated to the Football League Community Trust, delivering sporting and social opportunities to people within their communities.
The Swindon Town programme was formed in 1991 and has endeavoured to deliver and increase participation for people from 3 – 80 years of age. Under the guidance of the Football League Trust they deliver to meet the five key themes of Sports Participation, Health and Education, Social Inclusion and the Environment.
The Swindon Town Community Trust deliver football and Multi Sports based programmes within Swindon and the county of Wiltshire. The Social Inclusion and Disability Programmes are two pieces of the jigsaw which contributes to the whole picture, encompassing people within their local professional football club.
Jed McCrory, Swindon Town Football Club Chairman states, “The Community Charitable Trust is a crucial part of Swindon Town Football Club, with them portraying a positive and pro active image within the local area, offering opportunities for people to have a positive experience within the wide range of programmes on offer.”
The Trust, with the support of the local partners, continue to strive and achieve their maximum potential by engaging with over 30,000 participants on an annual basis.
