PAN Disability Course a Resounding Success

Children with disabilities participated in the first ever Swindon Town Football in the Community PAN Disability course this week at St Joseph’s Catholic College.

The group, 30 strong aged between 5 and 16, with conditions including autism, cerebral palsy and down’s syndrome enjoyed 3 days of action packed fun alongside the mainstream Development Week.

Clive Maguire, STFiTC Development Manager said, ” Summer is our busiest time with all our Development Weeks and the PAN Disability course has been fantastic. With it being our first course its been an overwhelming success. The course was funded by Aiming High and the Football League Community Trust.”

“It was absolutely fantastic and we did multi sports with them such as basketball, hockey and football. It has been lovely to see the effort and commitment that the children put in regardless of their disability. They have embraced everything we asked of the,m and it has been very rewarding. The children’s parents were full of praise and said what a great time they have had. The children especially enjoyed the inflatable pitch.”

The children all went away with a medal and goody bag for taking part in the course.
